News from the East Asian Collection, University of Sydney Library:

1. The library has selected and received 151 titles from the Consulate-General of the People’s Republic of China in Sydney.  The books are on Chinese culture and arts.  Most of them in Chinese language.

2.  The library recently purchased more than 1000 volumes of Japanese Manga books and DVDs. They were made possible by a significant donation from a member of the Friends of the Library, Mr. Neil Burns.  The collection includes many complete sets of Manga series.

 3. A photographic exhibition “Enchanting Taiwan” is on show in Fisher library from 6 November 2009 to 29 January 2010.  80 photographs are on display. Information about the exhibition is on: http://www.library.usyd.edu.au/about/whatsnew/index.html#taiwan
