New e-Resources from the National Library of Australia

The National Library of Australia has subscribed to three more new online resources:

  • NK News (North Korean News)

  • Eastern miscellany (Dong fang za zhi =東方雜誌全文數據庫), and

  • Chinese Communist Party History Database (Zhong gong dang shi qi kan shu ju ku (-1949) =中共党史期刊数据库(-1949))

The NK news is an independent, privately owned specialist site focused on North Korea. The content includes news, news aggregator, intelligence analysis, research tools, travel reports, and exclusive data sets about North Korea. NK News is one of the most important sources of information on North Korea. It is up-to-date, comprehensive, full of useful detail and is available via Library’s catalogue: nla.gov.au/nla.cat-vn6420566



The Eastern miscellany (Dong fang za zhi =東方雜誌全文數據庫), one of the China's most prominent weekly magazine, was published by the Commercial Press in 1904, has went through many major historical periods including the end of Qing Dynasty, the Revolution of 1911, the May 4th Movement, Anti-Japanese War, the War of Liberation. This full text database includes more than 30,000 articles, 12,000 pieces of pictures, 14,000 advertisements, more than 100 million words. The Chinese Communist Party History Database (Zhong gong dang shi qi kan shu ju ku (-1949) =中共党史期刊数据库 (-1949)) is a full-text database, providing access to journal articles on Chinese Communist Party history from 1900-1949. It is available via Library’s catalogue: nla.gov.au/nla.cat-vn6253164
