Dear ALRA colleagues and readers,

The year began with a fresh team and anticipation along with some expectation and trepidation surrounding the changes in library support for Asian Studies in our southern quarters and academic challenges at the ANU. The mid-year was marked with the 21st Biennial ASAA Conference at the ANU, including the exceedingly successful twin-session Asian Studies and its Research Material Roundtable Discussion [both of which we will feature in a forthcoming Special Issue]. My thanks to all those who have contributed to this edition and to the readers for their patience.
